GAIZCA PROJECT (Galicia, Basque Country, Catalonia & Belgium)

A first in Spain: a creation at the crossroads of the musical traditions of Galicia, the Basque Country and Catalonia… with a nod to Aranés, the official language of the Aran Valley.

A resolutely festive project, a great bowl of positive energy, a repertoire that gives you both a buzz and a banana and invites the audience to sing and dance.

GAIZCA PROJECT – Galicia/Euskal Herria/Catalunya – a creative fusion of traditional and popular themes from Galicia, the Basque Country and Catalonia, is an original project by the four singers of the Galician vocal group IALMA, the Basque trikitixa and txalaparta player Iñaki PLAZA and the Catalan gralla and tenora player Manu SABATE.

GAIZCA PROJECT’s objective is to bring these three strong musical cultures together, to exchange, to cross paths, to end up with a completely original creation, sharing their own identities, their specificities, their histories, in a contemporary perspective of openness to the world… in time and in space.
